Salman Khan rises to the level of Amitabh Bachchan !!!
In Bollywood images are generally created by the media. The stories, rumours and gossips are planted as part of publicity for an upcoming movie. See how various blogs of films and film stars throng up when the movie is to be released, then goes into hibernation and suddenly comes up when another release is lined up. Salman’s image for long have been an Aish-rejected, street-brawling macho actor always taken in negative sense.
In Wanted he plays the character that the world considers him to be. Brash, insensitive. Yet in real life he emerges a winner. Wanted is huge success. And I can now safely proclaim that after the Big B in Bollywood its only Salman. Yes Salman….no SRK, Akshay, Hritik or Aamir !
Salman has lived his life on his own terms. He has not made his social-service issues talk of the media. Yet he has been generous in helping his friends and those he find in need. Not taking individual cases, take how he supported Govinda come back to Bollywood with Partner, after his short political-loo. Govinda was down and out and short of morale. Salman stood by him. Just look at his family, the bondage between brothers. These are signs of a well cultured individuals.
Coming to Wanted. The movie will be Salman’s Deewar. Notice some of the scenes they are inspired by Deewar Locking of Keys, some dialogues like -commitment is commitment – (in Deewar it was “mein abhi bhi phenke hue paise nahin uthata”). Deewar gave us an angry young man with a heart of gold which still shines with us – Amitabh Bachchan. Wanted has given us Salman – a not so young in age, but too young at heart individual
Similarly talking of small screen innings – its Salman Khan’s show on Sony Dus Ka Dum that holds attention like Kaun Banega Crorepati. SRK’s, Akshay’s show just look plain orchestra.
With so many movies lined up in coming weeks – mein aur Mrs Khanna, London Dreams, Veer, all carrying good reports, Salman Khan has risen himself to a blockbuster level. Pray he remains there for very longgggggggggg. He is second in line that starts with Big B.
