It definitely needs some new publicity designers ?

As my 21 month son, Om, observes the promo of Do Knot Disturb, he sings Kooke-koooke – song from just released Life Partner. Reason probably is Govinda. But it can be comfortably argued that the promos are similar for both films !

Then observe Wanted. The film no doubt took brilliant opening due to its brilliant campaign. It marks the return of our beloved – Salman – and now we are seeing some of the Salman Khan overdose of sorts. Look at Mein aur Mrs Khanna where he romances Kareena Kapoor, look at the promos of London Dreams, where he is coody-cooding Asin-track mann ko ati-bhaye saiyan, ta ta thaiyaan… and Wanted’s ‘tose pyar karte hain…’ The promo looks strikingly similar, same bhojpuri masala feel…If you are not a Bollywood follower you will be confused…

Look at the song picturisation of All the Best title track. Isn’t it similar to ‘Barso Yaaron‘ track of London Dreams. Same Ajay Devgn with guitar on stage. Rock-on, remember, even the lyrics look similar.

Blue looks similar to LUCk which in turn looked similar to Kidnap…can understand Blues’s fate. What’s your Rashee has managed to look refreshing, interesting and different. But here Harman lookalike Hritik Roshan. Imran hashmi’s Tum Mile looks similar to Jashn or Jannat in terms of look and music of the film…

These films that are mentioned are biggies, riding on huge expectations and budget and promotions. Why are they looking similar – Although no doubt content and genre wise these are different movies ….? One reason is that with so much movies lined up, these similarities which were always their have become more visible.

But the make-up man of the promos surely needs to be overhauled…as it may be harming the mood, the feel of the staple…
